Harvest Packaging System
Problem
Harvest Market's existing packaging used mixed materials that weren't recyclable and didn't reflect their farm-sourced values. Customers frequently confused product lines because labels lacked a consistent hierarchy.
Process
I audited the full product range and grouped items into three tiers: produce, pantry, and prepared foods. Each tier received a distinct but related color band while sharing a unified type system and kraft-base material. Compostable and recyclable substrates were specified with the print vendor.
Result
Packaging waste dropped 35% through material consolidation. In-store surveys showed a 50% improvement in product findability, and the new system won a regional sustainability design award.
