Problem

A ceramic artist was selling primarily through Instagram DMs, which created friction for buyers and made inventory management chaotic. They needed a simple storefront that let the work speak for itself while handling orders reliably on mobile.

Process

I mapped the purchase journey from discovery to checkout, then wireframed a minimal product grid with large photography and a streamlined three-step checkout. The site was built mobile-first with lazy-loaded images and a warm, gallery-like layout that mirrors the tactile quality of the ceramics.

Result

Online sales grew 3× in the first quarter after launch. Average time-on-site increased to over four minutes, and cart abandonment dropped below 30%—well under the industry average for handmade goods.
